Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Uncovered
According to the formal release, "An unusual encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.
The questline concentrates on "bizarre trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's newest free story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
